SketchList 3D was founded by Dave Rozewski, a woodworker and engineer based in Bristol, RI. With a background in industrial engineering, programming, and business, Dave combined decades of experience with a lifelong passion for woodworking to solve a common frustration—designing projects with overly complex CAD tools.
After retiring, Dave began creating custom woodworking pieces and quickly saw how time-consuming and error-prone traditional design methods could be. Determined to find a better way, he built his software—simple, visual, and built to match the workflow of real woodshops.
As other woodworkers saw what he’d created, they asked for copies. That interest turned into a business: SketchList 3D.
From Hobbyist Tool to Business Powerhouse
SketchList 3D launched during a tough time for small woodworking shops. The economy was down, and competition from overseas and big-box retailers was squeezing independent craftsmen. Dave listened to these shops’ needs and evolved SketchList from a hobbyist tool into a professional-grade design platform.
