3D Cabinet Design drawn image of dresser
This dresser designed from two 12 inch cubes.

This post on 3D cabinet design and the included video show how to use library assemblies to create whole new designs in minutes.    It demonstrates the concepts, tools, and steps necessary.
box 12 in cube
First we start by opening SketchList 3D and choose the box project.  And if you don’t have it just click the Quick Create New Project button [yellow] at the left of the screen.  Then we’ll move onto the 12 inch cube created in our last post.  [If you don’t have that go back to the last post on making a box.]

This project is dense with tool explanations, techniques, and tips.  However the design was off the top of my head.  If you want some dresser ideas look at this.
The video on our 3D cabinet design package reviews using the following:

  • red dots to size objects
  • blue dots to locate
  • align tool
  • merge assembly function
  • resize a drawer
  • clone and space objects

This older post on 3D cabinet design contains more information on merging assemblies.
