Board Definition

This form is used primarily for making changes or adjustments to an existing board. This same type of information is available in the new board form (shown below) and is usually entered at that point. However your design requires a change you can make that change using this will.

In order to use this form you must be at the assembly level and have selected the board that you want to modify. If no board you selected the form will open up the blank.

1

Type of Material

The type of materials filter is a way of creating groups and subsets of materials in your database. By clicking the radio button next to the type you would like to see displayed you can narrow down the number of materials that will appear on this list.
2

List of Material Choices

Material to be used for the board.  To use a particular materials double left mouse click on the row.
3

Orientation of Board

orientation is the concept that SketchList 3D uses to match boards and other parts to the material from which they will be cut. The orientation is selected by clicking on the image that best represents what the board will look like when viewed from the front of the assembly. The orientations are 1. Flat – for example a back of the cabinet, 2. Horizontal – for example shelf, 3. Vertical – for example side of a book case.
4

Grain Direction

Grain direction is set to allow SketchList 3D to render the images of the design of grain in the proper direction. Grain direction is also used in sketch list 3-D to make sure the board is properly aligned on the material from which it will be cut. This affects the optimized cutting layout.
5

New material button

This opens the new material form where you can create additional materials for your design.
